"Captains Log 17/01/09"

Its the first post for the New Year and although the 17th is actually a Saturday, im still considering this a Friday due to the time. I Had to finish off watching the Aussies getting BEATEN in the cricket.. In any case...

This week was full of pre-vis. This meant spending a lot of time reasearching and gathering resources that will help aid me in the conception process. I spent a lot of time researching real oceanic and deepsea creatures as well as looking at how monsters with tentacles (Being very cautious when searching that topic....VERY) are portrayed in games and in films.

We also had members from Sidhe come up to see what we were up to and help us in the design phase. The help we got from them was immense and we thank you both for coming up James and Gareth. The feedback we received was very helpful.

The end of the week ended up with the start of the conception phase and I am now currently working on a few designs for the mother/queen alien creature. This conception stage has been slightly rescheduled with some time put in for creating some style sheets as well. All I can say now is that im thoroughly looking forward to designing some interesting monsters so the next few posts should have some pretty "shiny" pictures floating around.
